This subject introduces more advanced techniques in the Java programming language including advanced data structures, web apps and web services, professionalism (including version control) and using the Java libraries. You will also be introduced to Andro, get to know the Android Studio IDE, how to build basic apps, the app activity life cycle, building user interfaces, connecting to resources and software security.
This subject has been mapped to the following units of competency from the ICT50715 Diploma of Software Development:
- ICTPRG523 Apply advanced programming skills in another language
- ICTPRG501 Apply advanced object-oriented language skills
- ICTPRG505 Build advanced user interface
- ICTPRG507 Implement security for applications
Content is delivered online and may include e-learning, videos, activities, blogs and links. Content only does not include access to trainers or live sessions.
You will have access to this subject for 5 months from enrolment, however, this access will continue thereafter if you remain enrolled in other subjects/courses within the faculty.
To attain a Statement of Attainment for the units listed above, and credit towards the full qualification, you need to complete the assessments provided with the subject. The assessment cost is not included in the content fee and you will need to purchase this from within the assessment when you are ready to submit.
